Hello Bob and Mark and all your team at Adventure Safari Panama.
Just arrived back in Mississippi from our Adventure Safari to Panama. WOW!!!! What to say? … I’ll just give you the short version.Panama was quite extraordinary. I think it was one of the best weeks of my life. Everything went perfectly …apart from the minor delay with immigrations at the airport due to 3 planes arriving at the same time. Since this was the inaugural trip of your Adventure Safari we expected things to be a bit confused and we were prepared for that as part of our adventure…..well, we missed that part of the adventure as everything went like clockwork.
Seeing (going over) the Bridge of the Americas and seeing the Panama Canal was a real thrill, much better than pictures. The people were extraordinary…the camp was amazing and the wildlife beyond belief.
The whole trip was way beyond our wildest expectations. Even the transfers were interesting. In route from Pedasi to Los Buzos I actually saw a Scarlet Macaw in a tree on the side of the road, unbelievable since they are so scarce every place else. And the boat trip and landing of the boats on the beach (landing -crashing?) was an adventure all it’s own and we were not even at the camp yet.
Our guide Adriano was amazing and made sure we saw and did everything and picked fresh fruit from the jungle to grace our table and made sure we had fresh fish. We had some incredible experiences and left with hugs all round and tears in our eyes after just 7 days.
Thank you all very much for making this adventure possible.

CERRO HOYA NATIONAL PARK - PARADISE IN THE AZUERO AREA When vacationing in Panama if you are looking for a place surrounded by nature where you can be directly in contact with nature, you can visit Parque Nacional Cerro Hoya (CerroHoyaNational Park).
This park is considered an ecologic jewel and is located between the provinces of Veraguas and Los Santos. It extends 32,557 hectares and it is the home of many species, even some that are endangered.
Parque Nacional Cerro Hoya is a protected marina but more importantly it protects animals that inhabit the park such as: jaguars, howler monkeys, deer, and birds like the parakeet and the red macaw.
How to get there
There are two ways to get to this ecologic paradise; the first is through Los Santos and then traveling to Cambutal where you will find a boat that will transport you to the park. The boat ride costs 6 balboas (balboa is at par with the US dollar) per person. The second rout to Cerro Hoya is through Veraguas; if you choose this second rout you must come by a 4x4 vehicle due to the conditions of the road.
You will find plenty of adventure in this park. If you wish to go camping here remember to bring the basics. In Cerro Hoya you will find rivers, waterfalls, mountains and other adventures in this charming place.
What to bring to Cerro Hoya
When you travel to this park is: a good camping tent, light food, comfortable clothes, insect repellent, first aid supplies, sun block, and bottled water; and you will have an excellent day in this ecologic paradise.
When you come to Parque Nacional Cerro Hoya you will be able to appreciate breathtaking landscapes that are characterized by medlar trees, bitter wood, mahogany, spiny cedar, madrones, wild cashew, oak, panama tree, “macano” tree, panama redwood, corotu, strangler fig, Birchwood, guaiacum, cocobolo hardwood, calabash trees, among other species you can admire. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this magical place in Panama.
As you can see some of the pricing information (boat trip) is dated and it is not possible to go by 4x4 to the park from the other side. Hiking, horseback or boat are still necessary. But, the descriptive information is still the same. In 2008 it was not possible to do an all inclusive safari., now you can and leave all the details to us.
We absolutly love it when our guests are so kind as to take the time to send us such a glowing review of their Adventure Safari. These kinds of letters serve as a reward to the staff and makes them want to work harder to make your experience even better.
Keep those letters coming !!!
